Burlington plans to open a new apparel store in Cedar Hill, bringing with it more retail opportunities as well as additional jobs. Formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, Burlington sells a wide variety of clothes, jewelry and even toys.

Burlington Brings New Retail Options to Cedar Hill

According to a recent announcement, Burlington will be opening a 48,136-square-foot store in combination with Baby Depot. The new shop is expected to offer apparel, shoes and accessories for both men and women. The shop will also offer children’s apparel, baby furniture and supplies, home décor and gifts.

Founded in 1972, Burlington is an off-price retailer that claims to offer products that are priced at 65 percent below department store rates. In all, the company has stores in 44 states and Puerto Rico, with more than 500 stores in operation. The new Cedar Hill store will be located at Cedar Hill Shopping Center at 229 East FM 1382. The store will be the 59^th Burlington to be opened in the state of Texas.

In addition to being a retailer, Burlington is also involved in a number of charitable organizations. The company has partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night campaign since 2002. Over the years, the company has raised more than $19 million for the organization. The company also launched its Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Drive in 2006, which has resulted in more than 1.2 million coats being collected and distributed. The company partnered with WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease in 2012, which has resulted in its annual Red Dress Event. With the opening of the new Cedar Hill location, Burlington will be hiring between 50 to 100 workers. While the company is already accepting applications and will start hiring employees for the new store soon, the store is not expected to open until the fall of 2015.
