Healthcare Job Fair Offering Thousands of Job Coming to Irving

With many companies choosing to expand their facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, a growing number of jobs have been coming to the area. One industry that continues to search for qualified people to fill positions is the healthcare industry. To assist with the process of connecting qualified individuals to employers, three organizations are hosting a healthcare career fair on June 25 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas.

In an effort to connect healthcare workers with employers, the Dallas County Community College District Health Careers Resource Center, Dallas Workforce Solutions and the DFW/Healthcare Human Resources Association are working together to provide the healthcare career fair. The fair will feature more than 100 employers who are looking for qualified individuals for everything from entry-level positions to executive and clinical positions. In all, these employers are expected to represent more than 15,000 job openings.

The Dallas County Community College District Health Careers Resource Center is one of the largest community college systems in Texas. Formed in 1965, the organization is comprised of seven independently accredited colleges: Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake and Richland. Since its development, the resource center has served more than 1.5 million people.

Dallas Workforce Solutions, or Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, is a local organization that serves as a resource for employers who are interested in obtaining quality employees. The organization provides job training, educational initiatives, workplace education and child care in an effort to support Dallas citizens as they try to become part of the workforce. The organization, which has been recognized for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility by the US Chamber of Commerce, serves as a national model for addressing work-related concerns.

The DFW/Healthcare Human Resources Association is an affiliate of the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration. As such, the organization focuses exclusively on helping to meet the needs of human resource leaders within the healthcare field. To accomplish this goal, the organization provides educational, developmental and networking opportunities to its members.

Exploring Employment Opportunities at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas

The 275,000-square-foot Irving Convention Center is situated on 40 acres of land in Las Colinas Urban Center in Irving, Texas. Opened in January 2011, the convention center boasts several levels as well as an adjacent parking garage. The first floor, which frequently serves as an exhibition hall, offers 50,000 square feet of space. The second level offers 20 breakout rooms within 20,000 square feet of space as well as an atrium café that extends outdoors.
