Dallas-Fort Worth Region Named 14th Best Place to Work in the Country

Glassdoor, which is a website where employees and former employees are invited to anonymously review companies, has recently published its list of the 25 best cities for jobs. According to the list, Dallas-Fort Worth is among the top 25 places in the country to work. Furthermore, Manpower Group has found that employment opportunities are expected to grow faster in the Dallas-Fort Worth region than the national trend.

In determining the best places to work in the country, Glassdoor analysts considered many factors. These included how easy it is to find a job in the city, the cost of living and how satisfied employees were with their jobs.

With 102,311 job openings and a population of 6,954,330, Dallas-Fort Worth earned a job score of 3.6 and a 14th place spot on the list. The researchers also found that the median base salary in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area was $50,000 and the median home value was $157,900. The overall job satisfaction rating among those employed in Dallas-Fort Worth was 3.2.

Three other Texas cities were also included on the list. Austin came in fourth while San Antonio took the 9th position and Houston came in at 21st. The number one city on the list was Raleigh, North Carolina with a job score of 4.1.

Manpower Group Finds Hiring Levels Promising for Dallas-Fort Worth Area

For home owners who want to be among the satisfied employees employed within the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Manpower Group has good news. The human resources consulting firm recently reported that employment opportunities in the area look quite promising for the area during the time spanning from July through September.

In fact, the firm found that 28 percent of employers across the state plan to hire more people in the upcoming quarter. When making adjustments for companies that plan to make cuts during this same period, the net employment outlook for the Dallas-Fort Worth area comes to a 24 percent gain.

Many of the new jobs coming to the Dallas-Fort Worth area are expected to be within the technology sector. A report by Robert Half Technology found that 23 percent of executives within the Dallas-Fort Worth region plan to expand their IT teams during the second half of 2015. Furthermore, 66 percent plan to hire for open IT roles with no plans to make cuts to IT staff.

Demand for IT professionals in Dallas continues to grow as companies focus on website build-out projects and implementing IT security. With a shrinking pool of potential candidates available, employers are finding themselves having to provide competitive compensation in order to find qualified candidates for available positions. The most in-demand positions are network administrators, windows administrators and desktop support professionals.
