The Dallas Cowboys are well on their way toward completing a $350 million project in Frisco’s $5 Billion Mile. When complete, the campus project will serve as the home for the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters and practice facilities. Collectively, these $1 billion facilities will be referred to as The Star in Frisco.

Expanding the Dallas Cowboys’ Franchise

The new 91-acre mixed-use campus, which will be located at the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and Dallas North Tollway, will be anchored by a 12,000-seat indoor practice facility. The campus will also serve as the home to the club’s administrative offices and coaches’ office. The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will also be housed at the new campus, with other features including an indoor practice facility, two outdoor fields and an indoor events center. Retail and restaurant space is also planned for the new campus.

The new headquarters are supposed to be completed next year with the team planning to move to the new facilities in the fall. While weather issues have slowed down the process a bit, schedules and work hours have been adjusted in order to help keep the project on schedule.

Working Cooperatively with the City Officials

As part of the agreement that the city has forged with the Dallas Cowboys organization, the new practice facilities will be owned by the city while being managed by the Dallas Cowboys. Currently, the Cowboys are headquartered in Valley Ranch in Irving, which is a suburb of Dallas. Valued at approximately $3.2 billion, the Cowboys are the most valuable NFL franchise as well as the most valuable sports team in the country. When compared to international sports teams, Real Madrid is the only team with a higher value than the Cowboys. A part of the team’s success can be tied to the excellent relationship the team has with the city as well as its strong fan base.

Frisco’s $5 Billion Mile

Located approximately 25 miles from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport within Collin and Denton counties, Frisco is known for its excellent schools, retail establishments, restaurants, parks, entertainment opportunities and sports venues. The $5 Billion Mile, which will cost $5.4 billion to complete, will be the latest addition to the city. The area, which will actually span over one mile of space, will also feature the Frisco Station, The Gate and Wade Park.

The 242-acre Frisco Station will be a mixed-use project featuring office, restaurant, retail and residential space. It will be situated right next to the Dallas Cowboys Project and will cost $1.7 billion to complete. The Gate, which will cost $700 million to complete, will also feature office, retail, hotel, restaurant and residential space as well as 415,000 square feet of medical space. The $2 billion Wade Park will feature retail, office, hotel and residential space as well as a Whole Foods and an iPic Theatre.
