The Dallas/Fort Worth metro area offers a variety of Independence Day activities every year. While the Fair Park Fourth celebration serves as the official Fourth of July festival for Dallas, you don’t have to travel to Dallas in order to see great fireworks displays or enjoy family-friendly activities. Here’s a look at just a few of the Fourth of July celebration options located outside of Dallas.

Kaboom Town Fireworks

McFadden’s in Addison will host its Kaboom Town fireworks show on July 3. The event typically draws more than 400,000 visitors and features 1,500 pounds of fireworks. As such, it is the largest fireworks display offered in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. In addition to the fireworks, the event will feature an air show sponsored by the Addison Airport and the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. The Kaboom Town Fireworks takes place at McFadden’s, located at 4050 Beltine Road in Addison, Texas.

Fort Worth’s Fourth

Billed as the largest fireworks show in North Texas, the Fort Worth’s Fourth fireworks show takes place at 10:00 pm on the Fourth of July. Jet ski and flyboard shows will also be performed throughout the day, while the Jimmy Buffet tribute band The Land Sharks will take place at 6:00 pm. The cover band Downtown Fever will perform at 8:00 pm. Gates to the event open at 2:00 pm.

The Fort Worth’s Fourth event also offers a variety of activities for families to enjoy. One of the most popular activities is the free tubing, which is free and open to people of all ages. Tubes and life jackets are provided on a first come, first served basis, but participants are also welcome to bring their own. Tubing ends at 8:00 in order to clear the necessary space for the fireworks show. Other activities will include a zip line, miniature golf, water slides, a levee slide and pony rides. Face painting and bounce houses will also be available.

A variety of vendors will also be onsite at the Fort Worth’s Fourth, offering all of the typical festival treats. Among these will be lemon chills, corndogs, fried shrimp, pretzels, cotton candy, ice cream, pizza and sausages. Tex Mex, barbecue and Cajun foods will also be available.

There is no cost to enter the event or to participate in the kid zone activities. Parking is $10 for preferred parking or $5 for overflow parking. Parking is located at 395 Purcey Street in Fort Worth, Texas.

Star Spangled Spectacular

Firewheel Town Center and the City of Garland will offer its Star Spangled Spectacular from 2:00 to 10:00 pm. In addition to hosting a fireworks display at 9:15 pm, the event will also feature bounce houses, balloon artists and face painters. 92.1 Hank FM Party Patrol will also be onsite from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, during which time they will offer live music, games and other family-friendly fun. Area retailers will also offer special summer sales and events throughout the event.

The Firewheel Town Center is located at 245 Cedar Sage Drive in Garland, Texas. Admission to the event is free.
