As the Dallas metro region continues to draw in new businesses, the residents benefit in a number of different ways. First, the new businesses often provide new products or services to the region. Second, the new businesses frequently bring new employment opportunities. Finally, the new businesses help to further boost the local economy when consumers spend money to purchase the goods or services they have to offer. Of course, new businesses can also benefit the economy by helping to attract more people to the state who, in turn, make purchases and pay for a place to live within the region. For all of these reasons, the fact that fashion retailer Planet Blue has made plans to open a retail location in Dallas next month is certainly good news for Texas and its residents.

Originally opened in 1995, the first Planet Blue store was opened in Malibu. Three years later, the growing demand for Planet Blue products led to a store expansion. The company further expanded in 2003 when it opened another store in Santa Monica. Two years later, the company spread further by opening a store in Venice, followed by another store opening in Beverly Hills in 2007. The following year, it became possible to purchase Planet Blue clothing online.

In 2010, the company officially unveiled its two brands: Blu Moon and Blue Life. The company took on the international market in 2013 when it opened stores in Tokyo and Yokohama. Today, the company’s products include everything from undergarments to cardigans, rompers, sweaters, skirts and jumpsuits. The company also offers clothing that is specifically geared toward music festivals.

Other than venturing into Japanese markets, Planet Blue stores have only been available in California. With the decision to open a store at 3010 Henderson Avenue, the store will be taking its first steps toward entering the Texas market. According to Vice President of Retail David Lindell, the decision to expand into Texas was made simply because “Texans get it.” Lindell went on to explain that Texas residents manage to strike the perfect balance between taking fashion seriously without taking themselves too seriously. The store also receives a great deal of support from Dallas customers via its online business.

The new Dallas store will measure 3,200-square-feet in space and will offer a variety of luxury beach Bohemian clothing options. Brands that will be carried in the store include Blue Life, For Love and Lemons, Nightcap and Stone Cold Fox.

In addition to the store opening soon in Dallas, the company has plans to open six more stores throughout the country. Planned locations for new stores include Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Honolulu and California’s Manhattan Beach.
