More jobs will soon be coming to Dallas as the creative technology studio Chaotic Moon makes plans to open a local office in the city. The Austin-based company plans to hire approximately 250 people in the next three years after completing the move.

Chaotic Moon’s expansion to North Texas represents the first time the company has expanded to a city outside of Austin. According to CEO Ben Lamm, the company was drawn to the region due to its two major airports and the heavy presence of Fortune 500 companies. While the airports will provide the company with access to national and international clients, the Fortune 500 companies in the area will serve as potential clients for the innovative company.

In addition, before deciding to make the move, the company was already receiving a large number of applications from people. According to the company, they have received approximately 100 resumes per week from qualified individuals living in Dallas. Therefore, the large pool of talent available in the region has served as another major draw for the company.

As part of its move to Dallas, Chaotic Moon will be interested in hiring developers, designers and engineers. The initial response to these openings indicates that there is a strong talent pool in Dallas. So much so that the company expects the Dallas office to be larger than the Austin office, which currently employs approximately 200 people.

Bringing Tech Jobs to Dallas Home Owners

Founded by Ben Lamm, William Hurley and Mike Ervin five years ago, Chaotic Moon designs, builds and delivers software across a variety of platforms. While the company works with many large brands, such as Pizza Hut, Samsung and Toyota, it also works with many smaller businesses and serves as an advocate for startup companies. In fact, the cash flow-positive company invests in many funds and startups while generating over $10 million in revenue each year.

As the company works on building its new space, which will be between 20,000 and 30,000 square feet, it will set up a pop-up shop at Weld. The final facility will likely be located in either the Design District, Deep Ellum or the West End. Regardless of where it is located, the company is interested in being a part of the city’s changing culture as the city transforms from having a decentralized downtown to one with more cohesiveness with a focus on startups. The emergence of the Bishop Arts District, the growth of the downtown area, Klyde Warren Park and the high-energy startup community have all contributed to the atmosphere that has drawn Chaotic Moon to the region.

While Chaotic Moon has not yet set an official opening date for its new Dallas office, it has already started to relocate some of its senior members to the area.
