Location:

Little Forest Hills is a residential neighborhood in east Dallas that is located near White Rock Lake. Little Forest Hills is bounded by Garland Road to the south, Lakeland Drive to the east, and Casa Linda Estates to the north and west.

Parks:

White Rock Lake is the premier outdoor area near Little Forest Hills. With over nine miles of hiking and biking trails, fishing piers, bird watching and more, it is the perfect place for nature buffs and outdoor enthusiasts. The lake covers over 1,200 acres, although swimming and motorized boats are not permitted.

Local Events:

An ongoing local event is a campaign called “Keep Forest Hills Funky.” Residents are hoping to create a relaxed historical society to protect the integrity of their neighborhood and keep people from building large, mansion-style homes.

Attractions and Shopping:

Casa Linda Shopping Center, or Casa Linda Plaza as it is commonly referred to, is the go-to shopping center for Little Forest Hills. It is the second oldest shopping center in Dallas, and recent refurbishments have restored it to its original charm. Here, visitors will find both restaurants and shops to choose from, along with a grocery store. Other area attractions include the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, and of course, White Rock Lake.

Area History and Information:

Little Forest Hills is comprised of about 1,000 homes near White Rock Lake. The neighborhood was the backdrop for a 2007 documentary about master planned communities, where Little Forest Hills was an example of a good development. The documentary is called ‘Subdivided: Isolation and Community in America.’ Little Forest Hills is just 15 minutes from downtown Dallas, and there are a variety of specialty shops and restaurants in the area.
