Location

Junius Heights is a neighborhood in old east Dallas with approximately 800 homes. It is Dallas’ newest and largest historic district and is located east of Munger Place, south of Swiss Avenue, and southwest of Lakewood.

Area history and information

Junius Heights was built in the 1910’s and was developed by C. H. Munger. Most of the homes here were built in the Craftsman and Prairie styles. Formerly, the neighborhood was served by a streetcar line that has since been removed. Homes here are quite beautiful and the neighborhood peaceful, so it’s not surprising that in 2010, Junius Height was named the “Best Place for Families” on This Old House’s list entitled “Best Old House Neighborhoods 2010.”
