Do you love to bowl while helping a great cause? If so, you might want to check out the upcoming Strikes for Strays event, taking place on August 2nd at the Plano Super Bowl. The event provides participants with a great opportunity to bowl while also raising money to help fund the local animal rescue group League of Animal Protectors.

Strikes for Strays

Now taking place for the fourth year in a row, Strikes for Strays is a fun way to help raise money for a worthy cause. For just a $20 fee, you receive two hours of bowling as well as shoes. The event also features a free dessert bar, a goody bag and the opportunity to win door prizes. You can also participate in a huge silent auction and event t-shirts will be available for purchase.

The Strikes for Strays event takes place on August 2nd from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. To register for the event, you will first need to create a team containing four to six players. Each team member will have to pay the $20 registration fee, which will go toward helping to support the League of Animal Protectors. Prizes will be awarded to the top scorers as well as to the “gutterball king” and “gutterball queen.”

The League of Animal Protectors

The League of Animal Protectors is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) animal rescue and adoption organization that is ran completely by volunteers. Many of the organization’s volunteers have been involved in animal rescue, rehab and adoption for several years. When it comes to the “rescue” of animals, the organization strives to do more than simply put an animal in a home. Rather, it seeks homes that provide a safe environment and personal attention while also providing the animal with the necessary medical care, grooming and training. As such, all adoptive homes and foster homes must adhere to strict guidelines. In addition, the organization will not place animals in a home that already has a large number of animals.

The Strikes for Strays fundraiser is one way the League of Animal Protectors raises the funds necessary to provide animals with the veterinary care they need. Furthermore, the organization strives to use the majority of its donations toward the medical care of its animals. In fact, it claims that approximately 90 percent of its donations goes toward the veterinary care of its foster animals.

The Strikes for Strays event will take place at Plano Super Bowl, which is located at 2521 K Avenue in Plano. The Plano Super Bowl offers 48 bowling lanes, including bumper bowling lanes for kids. The facility frequently hosts fundraising events as well as 2200 league bowlers. In addition, it hosts the largest youth league in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and hosts monthly tournaments.
