Primrose Schools, which is an accredited preschool that accepts children as young as six weeks of age, has purchased a tract of land near the $5 Billion Mile. The new location for the school, which has locations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth region, will serve as one of the anchors to the Teel Crossing I shopping center development.

A Win-Win Situation for Frisco Residents

The tract of land purchased by Primrose Schools was sold to the school by Vaughn Miller, who is the grandson of Texas real estate tycoon Henry S. Miller, Jr. Miller is also the president and CEO of VCM Development Group, which is currently working on developing the Teel Crossing I shopping center. By selling the land to the school, Miller also effectively gained an anchor for his new development.

The parcel of land purchased by Primrose Schools is located at the northeast corner of Main Street and Teel Parkway in West Frisco. The land, which measures 119,868 square feet, is located along a tract of land known as the $5 Billion Mile. The area was so name because of the $5.4 billion of development projects being planned for the area along the roadway. The parcel of land purchased by Primrose Schools was reportedly sold for $3.8 million.

Creating a New North Texas Development

By including Primrose Schools in the Teel Crossing I shopping center development, the developers hope to provide the community with access to a much-needed service. In addition to bringing the new school to the area, the development will also feature 20,020 square feet of retail space. The retail center will be located adjacent to the new school.

Founded by Paul and Marcy Erwin in 1982, the first Primrose Schools facility was located in Marietta, Georgia. The school was known for revolutionizing child care as it veered away from the “all play” model of childcare. Instead, the school focused on early childhood education where children were also taught integrity, fairness, social responsibility and enthusiasm.

Over time, Primrose Schools has expanded to provide its unique type of educational services to children throughout the United States. Today, the school operates more than 285 facilities in 40 U.S. markets within 23 states. In addition to providing daycare services to children between the ages of six weeks old and six years old, Primrose Schools also provides after school program for children up to twelve years of age. The school also provides day camp opportunities for children during the summer.

North Texas has many excellent educational opportunities available to children and adults of all ages. Primrose Schools is just one example of the options that parents have available for their young children, whether they are in need of daycare or simply want their children to get a head start before they start kindergarten.
