Exploring Space with Moon Day 2015

At Moon Day 2015, interested space enthusiasts can join three dozen exhibitors as they explore science and engineering. Among the attractions planned for the event are inflatable planetariums, Solar telescopes and robots. The event will also offer family-friendly Moon Academy classes, teacher workshops and adult-oriented Lunar University lectures.

In all, 22 different classes will be made available while visitors will also have the opportunity to build and launch their own rockets and to create space art. Those who come to join in the fun of Moon Day 2015 will also have the opportunity to meet Anousheh Ansari.

For kids who love space, there are plenty of special opportunities for fun to be had at Moon Day 2015. The first 200 kids to come to the museum on the special day will receive a Lunar Sample Bag containing five pounds of space-related materials. Ten children will also be selected to speak with the Expedition 43 Crew on the International Space Station. Boy and Girls Scouts will also have the opportunity to earn badges and one-of-a-kind Moon Day patches at the event.

The Frontiers of Flight Museum

The largest annual space-themed STEM event in Texas, Moon Day 2015 is sponsored by the Frontiers of Flight Museum and the National Space Society of North Texas. Unique artifacts and scale models of historic military aircraft are also on display, as is a full-size reproduction of the Soviet Union’s Sputnik I.

In addition to hosting Moon Day 2015, the museum offers a variety of educational opportunities for adults and children throughout the year. Among these are five-day Aviation & Space Camps and a two-day Flight School at Dallas Executive Airport.
