Area History & Information:

The City Center District is a post-1950’s area of the city where commercial centers and business towers were concentrated. Before 1950, most of the city’s commercial space had been located on Main Street, but was moved together to create a more central business district. The district was once home to Theatre Row, a historical entertainment area, which is evidenced by notable buildings like the Majestic Theatre still in the area.
