Location:

Belmont is a residential neighborhood in east Dallas. Homes here were built in the 1910’s and 1920’s in the Craftsman, Prairie, and Tudor styles. The Belmont area of Dallas is bounded by Ross Avenue, Greenville Avenue, McCommas Boulevard, and Skillman Avenue.

Parks:

Belmont residents can utilize Hattie Rankin Moore Park as a place to participate in outdoor activities.

Local Events:

Belmost is a mostly residential neighborhood, and therefore, local events are not prominent in this area of the city.

Attractions and Shopping:

Among the many homes in the Belmont area of Dallas, the Stevens Park Golf Course provides an athletic outlet for sports enthusiasts.  Kidd Springs Recreation Center is one of 47 in the city offering leisure programs to promote a healthier lifestyle. Programs and activities are tailored to athletics, sports, summer playground camps, cultural events, and programs that address community concerns such as juvenile violence, wellness, and life management skills.

Area History and Information:

In 2004, the Belmont Addition Conservation District was founded to help preserve the integrity of the neighborhood’s architecture. Prior to its founding, many historical homes were torn down to make way for larger, modern-style homes. The Belmont Addition Conservation District’s mission is to preserve the continuity of architecture in this part of the city.
